Tina Knowles as keynote speaker

Beyonce’s mother is probably the first high profile “Celebrity Mom” we know little, to nothing about.

We know that Tina Knowles is the mother of 2 successful female singers; one being the mega talent, Beyonce Knowles-Carter.
The other thing we know about Tina Knowles is that she owned a hair salon, and is an accomplished clothing designer.
Other than that, her personal life is a mystery.

I guess Beyonce gets her knack for mystery, and ambiguousness from her momma.
Little did we know, Tina Knowles also experienced a tremendous amount of pain, turmoil & setbacks in life.

The 60 year old designer and entrepreneur, was the keynote speaker at the Women & Money leadership luncheon in Houston, Texas last week.
Tina gave a very intimate, and moving speech at the leadership luncheon.
She opened up, and shared some very personal experiences from her life.

In Tina’s speech she shared stories about how she was mistreated in school, and how this abuse lead her to finding her passion as a hairstylist, and later to clothing designer.

Tina also shares intimate details about her marriage to Matthew Knowles; father of Beyonce & Solange Knowles.
She reveals how her marriage started to crumble during her pregnancy with Beyonce.
Tina also reveals how her overprotective ways caused Destiny’s Child to lose their first record deal.

In Tina’s emotional speech she shares how she lost herself within the entertainment industry, and forgot how to live life.
This lead to her world exploding, bringing her to the realization that she had to get a divorce.

Tina’s speech was very endearing and honest.
During her speech she revealed a side of herself that was never seen publicly.
She was likable, vulnerable and funny.

During the speech, you feel like your listening to a woman who is just sharing her story in hopes to enlighten, and inspire.
The speech did not feel scripted, or rehearsed, she just spoke from the heart; which made if feel real, and impactful.
