Yes, it is official!! French actor Olivier Martinez and Halle Berry are engaged to be married!!
Oliver was at Miami’s South Beach on Saturday to attend the opening of his new restaurant “Villa Azur”. This is where Oliver confirmed his engagement to actress Halle Berry during an interview with Miami.com. When Oliver was ask by Miami.com about the rumors surrounding about him and Halle getting secretly engaged, Oliver answered “Yes, of course it’s true!”
The Ring
Also there were many contradicting rumors surrounding the engagement ring and its designer.
“There is a jeweler taking credit for doing the ring and it’s a lie!,” said Martinez. “They have nothing to do with this.” So who is the real designer behind the emerald-and-yellow-gold stunner you might ask? Olivier revealed that the ring’s true designer is “real artist” Robert Mazio, a jeweler from his Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood in Paris, whose family has been designing jewelry for “kings and queens for many centuries.” Wow, so Oliver gave Halle a custom made ring designed for a Queen, fabulous!
Halle Berry Swore off Marrigae
My only question is what changed Halle’s mind about marriage. After Halle Berry ended her marriage to Eric Bennett she visited the Oprah Winfrey show and swore off marriage for good stating, “I will never marry again”. This was a factor when Halle was in her last relationship with male model Gabriel Aubrey; it was common knowledge that Gabriel really wanted to marry Halle, but since she had sworn off marriage Halle refused to marry Gabriel and turned down his marriage proposal. So now this engagement seems very sudden to most people since Halle began dating Oliver right after Gabriel. The is also very significant because Halle is asking a judge to allow her to move to France with Olivier, and 3-year-old Nahla who is the child she had with Gabriel Aubrey. Halle and Gabriel have been going through a very nasty child custody battle over Nahla, so Halle attempting to move out of the country with Nahla may add more fuel to the fiery custody battel between Halle and Gabriel.
In California and most states, a judge would look at the stability of the parent’s relationship and a marital relationship might appear far more stable and persuasive to a judge than boyfriend and girlfriend relationship. No word yet on when Halle and Oliver will marry, but we’re told a marriage will DEFINITELY take place.
